Refund and Payment Policy

Pricing

  • $49.00 per Schedule C line calculation, per tax year
  • One-time payment (not a subscription)
  • Payment is required before accessing final calculation results and downloading PDF reports
  • Prices are subject to change with notice on our website

When Refunds Are Available

✓ YES - Full Refund Eligible:

  • Technical failure prevents calculation from completing due to our system error (not user error)
  • Service downtime prevents access for more than 48 consecutive hours
  • OCR processes fewer than 50% of uploaded receipts due to technical errors on our end (not due to poor image quality, handwritten receipts, or damaged documents)

Refund requests must be submitted within 30 days of payment.

When Refunds Are NOT Available

✗ NO REFUNDS in the following situations:

  • After you download the PDF report - Once downloaded, the service has been fully delivered
  • After you view the final calculation results - Once you've accessed the results page, the calculation is complete
  • If you disagree with the calculated amounts - Calculations are based on your provided data; disagreement with results is not grounds for refund
  • If you made data entry errors - Wrong mileage, incorrect dates, misclassified trips, or other user input errors are your responsibility
  • If you uploaded poor-quality receipts - Blurry images, handwritten receipts that OCR cannot read, or damaged documents are not our system's fault
  • If you changed your mind - Deciding not to use the calculations after payment is not eligible for refund
  • If the IRS disallows your deductions - We are not responsible for IRS audits, penalties, or disallowed deductions (see our Terms of Service)
  • If you decided to use a different tax preparation service - Choosing another service after purchasing is not grounds for refund
  • If you missed the 30-day refund request window - Refund requests must be made within 30 days of payment

Refund Request Process

If you believe you qualify for a refund based on the criteria above, follow these steps:

  1. Email us at support@deductmax.com with:
    • Subject line: "Refund Request"
    • Your registered email address
    • Your Session ID (found in your calculation dashboard)
    • Detailed reason for refund request
    • Proof of technical error (screenshots, error messages, or detailed description)
  2. We will investigate your request within 5 business days
  3. You will receive an email with our decision (approval or denial with explanation)
  4. Approved refunds are processed within 10 business days to your original payment method via Stripe

Note: We reserve the right to request additional information to verify your refund claim.

Payment Methods

We process payments securely through Stripe. We accept:

  • Credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover)
  • Debit cards
  • Apple Pay
  • Google Pay

We do not store your full credit card information. Stripe securely processes and stores payment details in compliance with PCI-DSS standards.

Payment Disputes and Chargebacks

Please contact us before filing a payment dispute or chargeback.

If you file a dispute with Stripe or your bank without contacting us first:

  • Your account access will be suspended immediately pending resolution
  • We will provide documentation to Stripe/your bank showing that service was delivered
  • You may be charged additional fees by your bank for disputed transactions
  • If the dispute is resolved in our favor, your account will remain suspended

We prefer to resolve issues directly - most refund-eligible situations can be resolved quickly via email at support@.tax.

Taxes on Payments

Prices are displayed in USD and do not include applicable sales tax. Sales tax may be added at checkout based on your billing address and local tax regulations. The final amount charged will be displayed before you confirm payment.

Currency

All prices are listed in United States Dollars (USD). If you are paying from outside the United States, your bank may charge currency conversion fees. These fees are determined by your bank and are not controlled by DeductMax.

Changes to Pricing

We reserve the right to change our pricing at any time. Price changes will be posted on our website and will only apply to purchases made after the change. If you have already purchased access to a specific Schedule C line for a specific tax year, your price will not change.
